Chicago rap star Lil Durk [Durk Derrick Banks] has a love for fabulous fashion and brands are taking notice. Lil Durk joins Bella Hadid, Paloma Elsesser and Selena Forrest in the new Marc Jacobs Denim Monogram Collection, now available at Marc Jacobs retailers.

It seems that Lil Durk taught the sisters a thing or two about marketing — saying on Instagram Sunday: “I’m finna disappear for a minute.” Durk said. “Deactivating my page at eight o clock, it’s over with. I’m finna lock in, come back 1000 times stronger on some monster shit. Every time I pop back up, is that really him? Yeah.”

When big names leave Instagram, it’s news. When they return, it’s even bigger. Did Lil Durk’s followers get played? Yes. But isn’t that the essence of so much of marketing?
