Mariah Carey Covers W Magazine Vol VI 2022 Holiday Issue, Lensed by Ethan James Green AOC Fashion

American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer Mariah Carey, known as the ‘Songbird Supreme’ and ‘Queen of Christmas’ thrills fans with her five-octave vocal range and in advance of her two-hour CBS Christmas special on December 20th.

Carey was interviewed by Alex Hawgood for W Magazine’s December 2022 issue. Sarah Moonves styled Mariah in a faux fur coat from Adrienne Landau by Saulo Villela, Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors Collection, Miu Miu, Polo Ralph Lauren and more. Serge Normant does Mariah’s hair for the fashion shoot, with Kristofer Buckle on makeup.

Center stage in the fashion images shot by Ethan James Green [IG] is the jewelry — a special collection of butterfly-inspired pieces that makeup the new Chopard x Mariah Carey diamonds collection, honoring the pop star’s seminal 1997 album ‘Butterfly’.

The collection is the result of a close collaboration with Carey, Chopard and its Co-President and Artistic Director, Caroline Scheufele.

Hawgood and Carey reflect back on the black and white music video for ‘My All’ directed by the legendary fashion photographer Herb Ritts. Carey remains impacted by the experience, telling W Magazine readers:

Herb was a genius. I don’t even know how to put it into words, but I’m just so thankful that I was able to work with him. And the only reason I was able to was because I was out of that sequestered situation; you know the one. [Laughs] Serge Normant did the hair. Laura Mercier did the makeup. L’Wren Scott was the stylist. She put me in that incredible dress. I swear, darling, my body never looked better. Everyone was just so, so talented. They don’t make videos like that anymore.
