Woman | Stephanie Seymour | Max Vadukul | 'The Milky Way' | Vogue UK October 1994

As a followup to my reader-strong article Pirelli Defines Sensuality & Fashion Bodies | Arthur Elgort | Karl Lagerfeld, this 1994 editorial of Stephanie Seymour, ‘The Milky Way’ lensed by Max Vadukul for British Vogue, is an example of a Smart Sensuality woman in motion.

A great senior thesis project for a fashion student would be to construct a visual comparison of how women models not only shrank from the Supermodel sizes 4-6 to a size 0, but also how women stopped moving with purpose — or moving at all — in the first decade of 21st century fashion editorial.

We’re noticing movement again, so here’s hoping that strong, energetic women will be back in the fashion editorial game.
