Heide Lindgren & Georgie Badiel's Models 4 Water Fundraiser
/Anne of Carversville is home to evolved Smart Sensuality women and men. We are smart, sexy, stylish and have a lot of heart. A perfect example of a Smart Sensuality woman is Heide Lindgren, who founded with her girlfriend Georgie Badiel Models 4 Water.
Heide and Georgie hope to use their public platform as models to empower all young women and help the people of Burkina Faso to build and develop clean, sustainable drinking water and hygiene products. Featured this week on Models.com, the two friends recently held a dinner for 60 guests at Tribeca’s Locande Verde, as their first attempt to raise awareness around Models 4 Water.
This social activism gesture isn’t glamorous — although I’m sure the event was a great pleasure for The Water Project Founder & President Peter Chasse. The reason I called out Heide Lindgren specifically is because she not only evokes a strong sensual beauty in GUESS ads these days, but she raised some serious NSFW steam at Sensuality News in a Playboy France editorial last fall, lensed by Sasha Eisenman.
Smart Sensuality people embrace eroticism and a positive physicality. Nudity doesn’t necessarily involve the objectification of women, although I’m the first person to agree that today’s world of saturated porn is messing up our minds big-time.
Read my take on this weekend’s NYT magazine cover story on sex ed, where young guys admit they think that deep thrusting — and preferably doggie style — gives women fantabulous orgasms. After all, those porn girls just scream, scream, scream and moan in complete and total ecstasy in 60 seconds or less.
In the real world, about 70% of women don’t experience orgasm without an assist such a stimulation of the clitoris. Young men admit they are clueless.
Forgive the digression because this moment I’m promoting models like Heide Lindgren and Georgie Badiel who stand tall, using their influence for important charities like Models 4 Water. It’s my personal belief that Heide’s comfort level posing for Playboy France and her desire to help generate a healthy water supply in Burkina Faso come from the same positive-sensuality impulse and sensitivity to human suffering.
AOC’s commitment is to tell women’s stories from fashion to flogging. Most of our readers are clear about the fashion element, which definitely brings readers to the website. Once here, they don’t stay an average of 45-60 minutes, only looking at fashion editorials.
Our supporters love the mix of style, activism and critical thinking about the challenging topics that define our world. AOC’s writing about clean water and the massive problem of global water shortages includes: Rachel Beckwith’s Death Makes Water Wells in Africa;
