Karen Teegarden & Anne Enke UniteWomen.org Ban Communications
/Anne Enke and Karen Teegarden spoke Tuesday evening for 50 minutes. The conversation was cordial but during the course of the conversation it was clear that UniteWomen planned to be a top-down driven organization with a small number of women in charge.
Anne had received copies of all the organizational materials from another source, leaving no doubt that UniteWomen.org was planning to be even more top-down driven than Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Karen Teegarden asked Anne Enke to “sit tight” for a few days but no more contact was made with her. To clear her own name, having been banned from her Facebook responsibilities by Karen Teegarden on Tuesday night, and not having any statement or reinstatement from UniteWomen.org, it was clear that the organization intended no further contact with her. This statement of her innocence is accompanied by an essay written today: Bye Bye to UniteWomen.org, Karen Teegarden & Anita Doll Flouris.
Names have been changed to protect identities.

Karen, there’s nothing to say at all. I am absolutely at a loss for words here. You know, if my consistent actions on your behalf and standing up for you — as I did last Thurs with Monica — didn’t communicate my loyalty, there is nothing I can say.
Amy is criticizing me for being an opportunist over the jewelry raffle, when the reality is that I lost 35,000 unique visitors in April because I was working on the rally 6-8 hours a day. Her suggestions are laughable really, to say nothing of her economic calculations. Oh, and we did register 1/3 of our people in attendance with the jewelry raffle, which is considered a great success as a marketing stat. I knowingly put my own business obligations on hold, to help UniteWomen.
As I said in the call on Thurs., you ladies are the most distrusting people I’ve ever met. For you to assume that I was part of the coup — which I had NO knowledge of, ZERO — means that I will never earn your trust. And quite frankly, you have no interest in my ideas anyway, as you are far along in your organizational strategy and goal-setting without asking for any input from all but a few key associates.
Talk of people having to take loyalty oaths seems to have been the straw that broke your close colleague LW’s back.
Just for the record, while I was being accused last night of plotting against you, in reality I was at a NOW mtg in Philadelphia where I made a HUGE pitch for UniteWomen.org. Everyone was writing down the name.
CH, past president of Philadelphia NOW will verify that fact — she would flip if I told her how I had been treated by UniteWomen.org and you personally in the last 24 hours.
Actually, I think I will share how you treat your most ardent supporters, Karen. Let this be a lesson in how women should NOT work together in the name of feminism. CH — for all practical purposes I’ve been labeled a traitor and an instigator of a pretty serious rebellion within the organization last night. Basically, I have been banned from any level of responsibility or representation of UW, without a minute of due process in my defense. And KM, you might as well hear the story also.
