Candice Swanepoel | Akos Simon | Vogue Belleza to Victoria's Secret
/It thrills me to have photographers describing themselves as having a ‘sensual style’. Now I understand the attraction.
It’s even more pleasurable when the photographer is Akos Simon, and the images are of Candice Swanepoel, quickly becoming the ‘sensual model of the moment’ in her role as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and fronting today the cover of GQ UK’s V.Sexy February 2011 issue.
Akos Simon is so pleased for Candice’s success, perhaps flowering in some small way after showing these images of the then unknown Candice, shot in May 2006 and picked up by Vogue Belleza in the July 2006 issue, to the group creative director at Victoria’s Secret.
The modest photographer is confident that these images of Candice Swanepoel got her in front of Ed Razek and Company at VS.
He describes her as “very sweet and totally down to earth”, not the first time I’ve heard Candice Swanepoel described in this way. “She really knew how to move in water,” says Akos ” … and that’s not easy.”
I’m a huge Candice fan; so is Mario Testino who believes that Candice is ready to spread her own model wings in a significant fashion model flight path. We love her elegance, grace and sensual beauty, combined with a total comfort of her own skin and nude body.
The Russell James images of Candice for VS are spectacular and she radiates class and seduction in the new GQ UK editorial.
Candice Swanepoel is the epitome of what I call New Eroticism: the intersection of grownup brains, beauty, expressed sexuality, and heart.
