A FB friend Dan Middleton sent me a link to this article on older women on the Examiner: Women over 50 the new sex goddesses?

My comment triggered the profanity filter at the Examiner, and I have no idea why.

This is the comment, which I refuse to modify for Examiner.com, because I have no idea where to start. The crafty foxes don’t tell you the problem word, because it’s probably unconstitutional:

The sensuality of the aging woman is our constant focus at AnneofCarversville.com. You are so right about women taking the power. I will add two points:

1. Fashion is having an Italian woman moment. Older women in Italy and France are revered, so much so that American women believe we peak at 28 and French and Italian women say 35-45. 28 isn’t on their radar. We try to educate American women that older women are goddesses in other countries. 90% of women over 50 in France are very sexually active.

2. Organized religion emerges as another big topic of conversation that dominates female sexual ambivalence. The church plays a much less influential role, especially in France. But even in Italy, the pope doesn’t dominate female morality and he does in America.

The Internet allows us to inform and educate women about each other’s lives. As American women learn the facts about how French women live, hopefully we will develop the same independence and love of self at 45, 50 and long beyond.

This is the second time in a row that Examiner.com wouldn’t accept my comments. The last time I corrected four times in an article about female genital mutilation, finally cutting out Hezbollah and Shiite to get the comment published.

Censorship and Fashion’s Ungodly Moment

Fashion is having an ungodly moment. Just now we posted a new fashion editorial: Joséphine de la Baume for Oyster #88, featuring these religious photos. On Sunday I wrote: The Meaning of Birthday Girl Madonna’s Crucifix Clutch.

The morality police — and expecially at the Examiner.com — are all over discussions of women’s physicality. Interestingly, the comment “I want to have sex with a rich older woman” was just fine at the Examiner.com.

American women would be surprised to understand the severe nature of censorship on talking point pertaining to women. This morality-police attitude isn’t philosophically different from those in Middle Eastern countries. The noose just isn’t as severe.

Today is the 70th anniversary of the 19th amendment ratification by the 35th state of Tennessee, guaranteeing women the right to vote. I’m one of the feminists who believes that America has not come very far, compared to other countries, on the subject of women’s rights.

At moments, I think perhaps I’m being too tough on the topic, but after getting bounced twice in a row by the Examiner.com, I say: carry-on, Anne.
