Erotic Food Spotting: Tinned Tomatoes

Today, we have Tinned Tomatoes: A Gift from Alison, featured on Holler’s “Tinned Tomatoes”, a Scottish blog devoted to vegetarian cooking. I’ll let you log on for the recipe.

Looking at the succulent photos of these dressed-up sun-dried tomatoes, I understand that moist, not dry, is key to my vision of Erotic Food. And yet, macaroni and cheese isn’t Erotic Food to me. High-aesthetic Erotic Food tends not to be white.

The sensuality of these recipes come in the visual mix of ingredients, mating in the dish … a sexy co-mingling of flavors, herbs and spices. Also textures that are intense … even if like oysters, they are intensely sublime.

The healthy lycopene in tomatoes is better absorbed when they’re cooked or heated.

Organic is another word for my Erotic Food preferences. There’s a sensual purity to the food that emerges in the photographs … a bit of wilful decadence … an aromatic essence.

Now this is an interesting thought. I don’t think that Erotic Food is young. It’s mature, experienced, ripened food.

Enjoy Tinned Tomatoes, a beautiful source of Erotic Food inspiration
