An Open Letter To Fox News About ‘Boobs On The Ground’ Talking Points Memo
Eye reported earlier this week on the pride that millions of women around the world — including here at AOC — felt in learning that UAE pilot Major Mariam al-Mansouri leads her country’s anti-ISIS forces in the current air strikes.
Unfortunately Major al-Mansouri’s proud moment was marred internationally by the Internet’s justified focus on the moronic, sexist comments of two men at FOX News Eric Bolling and Greg Gutfeld. Co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle began the segment on a positive note — if a highly personal one:
“Hey ISIS, you were bombed by a woman,” co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle said, starting the segment off on a positive note. “Oh yeah, hell came down on ISIS in Syria because — guess what — the first female pilot, piloting for the UAE, leading the strikes. Dropped the bombs on ISIS on Monday night.”
Expressing a feeling that AOC relates to — especially given the ISIS belief that being killed by a woman soldier would send them to hell — Guilfoyle continued:
“I’ll take a woman doing this any day to them,” Guilfoyle added. “I hope that hurt extra bad because in some Arab countries, women can’t even drive.”
“After she bombed it, she couldn’t park it,” Greg Gutfeld quickly cracked.
“Would that be considered boobs on the ground or no?” Eric Bolling asked.
While the two men laughed, Guilfoyle put her head into her hand and said, “Why did they ruin my thing?”
Dear Mr. Bolling and Mr. Gutfeld, began the scathing letter from women and men of the Truman National Security Project.
We are veterans of the United States armed forces, and we are writing to inform you that your remarks about United Arab Emirates Air Force Major Mariam Al Mansouri were unwarranted, offensive, and fundamentally opposed to what the military taught us to stand for.
First, foremost, and most obvious to everyone other than yourselves, your remarks were immensely inappropriate. Your co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle was so right to call attention to an inspiring story of a woman shattering glass ceilings in a society where doing so is immeasurably difficult. We never heard an answer to her question: why did you feel so compelled to “ruin her thing?”
The Truman Project letter ends with sentiments that express those of Anne of Carversville. Being widely read by people living in the Arab world, we understand fully what a sexist insult and cultural affront was committed by these two moronic men:
We issue an apology on your behalf to Major Al Mansouri knowing that anything your producers force you to say will be contrived and insincere. Major, we’re sincerely sorry for the rudeness; clearly, these boys don’t take your service seriously, but we and the rest of the American public do.

Victoria Beckham Becomes UN Ambassador
Fashion designer Victoria Beckman joined the ranks of UN Goodwill Ambassadors this week, saying she was ‘humbled and honoured’ to represent the UN in its AIDS campaign. Beckham decided to join other UN ambassadors like Emma Watson, Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie, saying ‘For some reason people will listen to me. This is the beginning of an incredible journey for me.’
Her answers at the press conference may be a bit repetitive, but no one can doubt her passionate sincerity in taking on this role of AIDS ambassador. Responding to a question about whether she is donating any part of her fashion revenues to women in Africa, Beckham reveals that after returning from her first visit to South Africa as a changed woman, she auctioned off her clothes.

In fact, this was the scene when Lear watched her doctor husband succumb to cardiac death in 1978. But the Hollywood Heart Attack was not the one Lear experienced when a series of flu like symptoms caused her to ask her second husband “Could this be a heart attack?” “Of course not,” he said. It’s a stomach bug.”
Looking for an alternative image for this story, I searched “heart attack” in Google Images. Looking at the results, you would think that women never had heart attacks, when reality is that heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined.
Lear shares more hard to believe facts about women and heart disease after suffering a moderate heart attack and not the flue.
- In a national 1996 survey, two-thirds of doctors knew there were gender differences in heart attack symptoms.
- Men were treated far more aggressively than women for heart disease, when their lab results were equally concernful. Worse yet, women reporting the same symptoms as men were twice as likely to receive a psychiatric diagnosis!
- Even today, women make up only 24 percent of all participants in heart disease research.
