PA Aryanna Strader (D) vs Rep Joe Pitts (R) | Big Pharma & Health Care Against Women's Rights

UniteWomen.org Calls Out PA (R) Congressman Joseph Pitts, Sponsor of HR 358 ‘Let Women Die’ Bill AOC FP View

HR 358, Protect Life Act

Joseph Pitts (R) PA

Open Congress Summary: Amends the new health care law so that no federal money could be applied to health insurance plans that cover elective abortions, even if the abortion coverage is paid for entirely with private funds. It also states that a federal agency can not force a health care provider that accepts Medicare or Medicaid to provide abortion services, even in cases when the mother’s life is endangered.

The above need to know about PA (R) Congressman Joseph Pitts is a public service announcement by UniteWomen.org.

Coming off the UniteWomen.org march in Harrisburg last Saturday, I realize that we ALL must engage politically in the coming months. To that end, I have pledged my personal support to Democratic candidate Aryanna Strader against Republican incumbent and NO friend to American women Joe Pitts.

While I prepare a major statement on Aryanna Strader, who spoke at our UniteWomen.org Harrisburg rally last week, let me explain why your support from all over America — and the world — can help Aryanna Strader help women.

Strader & Pitts 49/51 in Voter Base

We have every reason to believe that the voter base exists to defeat Joe Pitts. The redistricted 16th district has a Democratic performance of 49.09% according to NCEC data. In the 2008 election the new district voted 50.1% for President Obama.

Redistricting gives Aryanna Strader’s campaign the whole City of Reading and Coatesville, while she lost a portion of highly-conservative Lancaster Co.

Although the official new redistricting map hasn’t been published, this link takes you to the map candidates are working from. This link includes a by county list of the new districts.

Please unite with me against the assault on women by Joe Pitts and his powerful big lobby allies. According to Lancaster Online, Pitts is rolling in dough.

The Republican lawmaker, the senior member of Pennsylvania’s House delegation, raised a whopping $649,719 last year in his bid for a ninth term in the House, new reports filed with the Federal Election Commission show.

That’s more than double the Friends of Joe Pitts committee’s take at this point two years ago and about triple the amount his campaign raked in by this time in the previous four election cycles, data show.

Big Pharma & Health Care Moves Against Strader & American Women

The substantial fundraising bump is tied to Pitts presiding over an influential House subcommittee that has jurisdiction over private health insurance, Medicaid and much of Medicare, as well as the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health.

Lancaster Online reported in February 2012 that 83 percent or $541,300 of the record-breaking campaign money Pitt has raised this year comes from political action committees, primarily in the health care and pharmaceutical industries.

In a nutshell, these big money health care and pharmaceutical lobbies are against American women, against PA candidate Aryanna Strader and against women’s reproductive health. I say: “Let’s turn this ludicrous situation for American women around!!!”  ~ Anne

PA Democratic candidate Aryanna Strader from the 16th Congresisonal district. Her incumbent opponent Joe Pitts is the sponsor of HR 358 Protect Life Act — or Let Women Die Act, depending on your views on women’s health and women’s own right to personhood..
