Rick Perry: Preacher, prophet … president? The Texas Observer
Rick Perry’s Army of God The Texas Observer
‘Rick Perry’s Army of God’, written in Sept 2009, introduces us to Tom Schlueter of Arlington and Bob Long of San Marcos, two pastors who not only support Rick Perry as America’s next president, but consider themselves to be prophets of God. So consumed with importance are these two men, that they consider themselves modern-day apostles and prophets, with a direct line to God.
Yesterday, our focus was Michele Bachmann’s direct line to God — in her own words.
Today, we learn more about a little-known movement of radical Christians who are determined to take over the US government, subordinating all Americans to their view of not only God’s grand plan for Texas. Schlueter and Long have proclaimed that Texas was ‘The Prophet State, ‘annointed by God to lead the United States into revival and Godly government.
The Texas Observer writes that Perry is their man:
If they simply professed unusual beliefs, movement leaders wouldn’t be remarkable. But what makes the New Apostolic Reformation movement so potent is its growing fascination with infiltrating politics and government. The new prophets and apostles believe Christians—certain Christians—are destined to not just take “dominion” over government, but stealthily climb to the commanding heights of what they term the “Seven Mountains” of society, including the media and the arts and entertainment world. They believe they’re intended to lord over it all. As a first step, they’re leading an “army of God” to commandeer civilian government.
If you’re a Democrat, you’re dead meat. These prophets believe that Democrats are controlled by Jezebel and three lesser demons. You think I exaggerate. Last weekend the man who probably seeks to be our next president hugged Alice Patterson, a self-proclaimed apostle from San Antonio who believes the Democratic Party is controlled by ‘an invisible network of evil comprising an unholy structure’ released by the demon Jezebel.
Not to Worry, Says Mainstream Media
It appears that America’s national media has concluded that last weekend’s New Apostolic Reformation movement called ‘The Response’ convocation of 30,000 wasn’t a political event.
The notion that a governor had initiated the event was not lost on the speakers. Indeed, it was integral to the power of the event.
“We pray for our governor, Rick Perry, who has had the courage today to call this time of fasting and prayer just as Abraham Lincoln did in the darkest days of the Civil War,” said pastor John Hagee, the pastor that John McCain repudiated in 2008 after Hagee’s anti-Catholic remarks became widely-known. “We thank you for his leadership, his integrity and his loyalty to God and country.”
Enter Netanyahu’s Good Friend John Hagee
John Hagee is a key obstructionist to any peace agreement in Israel.
Lying awake at 3am — having unfortunately read these articles before bedtime — I found myself even more afraid for my country than the night in April when I woke shaking in a nightmare, writing then The Republican War on Women Gives Me Nightmares.
Of course John Hagee was there, I told myself, trembling in the darkness. Not only was Hagee there, but he was on the podium at The Response, standing proudly with Rick Perry on this day when the best prescription of solving America’s economic problems was to bow down on our knees and beg forgiveness.
Was I prescient in March 2010, writing:
From Israel to Gaza to Tehran to Texas | Men Will Destroy Us All
I’m clear now that Israel has aligned itself with the Far Right and Fundamentalism. I hang out with too many progressive Jews not to understand that fact.
Listening to Jewish Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speak on March 8, 2010 with a warm embrace of John Charles Hagee, CEO of Global Evangelism Television (GETV) and American founder and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church, with more than 19,000 members, I’m having my own revelation.
IHOP, as in International House of Prayer — not the pancake house who is suing IHOP for destroying its brand — was founded in 1999 by a self-trained evangelist named Mike Bickle and draws tens of thousands of worshippers to its revivals and sponsors perpetual prayer to help usher in the Final Days, writes the Houston Chronicle.
Bickle preaches an apocalyptic Christianity that warns of the rise of a Satan-inspired religion he labels Harlot Babylon.
“I believe that one of the main pastors of the Harlot movement - it’s not the Harlot movement yet - is Oprah,” Bickle has proclaimed. “She is winsome, she is kind, she is reasonable. She is utterly deceived.”
Mike Bickle: Oprah Is a Forerunner of the Antichrist
These statements go to the very heart of Anne of Carversville:
“The Harlot Babylon is preparing the nations to receive the Antichrist. The Harlot Babylon will be a religion of affirmation, toleration, no absolutes, a counterfeit justice movement. They will feed the poor, have humanitarian projects, inspire acts of compassion for all the wrong reasons. They won’t know it, beloved they will be sincere, many of them, but their sincerity will not in any way lessen the impact of their deception. The fact that they are sincere does not make their deception less damaging.
I believe that one of the main pastors, as a forerunner to the Harlot movement, it’s not the Harlot movement yet, is Oprah. She is winsome, she is kind, she is reasonable, she is utterly deceived, utterly deceived. A classy woman, a cool woman, a charming woman, but has a spirit of deception and she is one of the clear pastors, forerunners to the Harlot movement.”
International House of Prayer, a Ministry Growing Into a Movement NYTimes
Beau Million of Fort Smith, Ark., travels a few times a year to Kansas City, Mo., to worship for several weeks at a time at the International House of Prayer. Steve Hebert for The New York TimesI must run for the rest of the day.
These comments and declarations from the extreme right-wing Christian ministries don’t shock me. Nothing about the extreme right-wing Christian ministries shock me when the topic is women. You see — whether under Catholicism, extreme evangelical ministries, orthodox Judaism or extreme wings of Islam — women ARE harlots! in the eyes of these nearly 100% male-dominated religions.
This fact — whether women want to believe it or not — is the fulcrum of all my writing and our content at AOC. You are witnessing a gender-based power battle worldwide, dressed up in religious cloaks of every denomination.
The Big Fear That Women Will Change the World
The great fear is that women will be the peacemakers, the rational negotiators unwilling to embrace religions that say ‘only my people’ are the people of God; the rest of you must die. You will live in Hell forever.
The great fear among these men is that women will build different institutions and lead a global peace movement with the support of many men. We are — in their minds — the Harlots of Babylon. One of these days, Americans will have to take a side in this 21st century religious war.
These men seek a grand religious blowout, world war III. They seek to end life on our planet, to get to the final stop which is heaven.
Never, ever, once has God spoken to the rest of us — confirming that Rick Perry indeed has a hotline to heaven.
There is not an ounce of proof that God has embraced Rick Perry. One archaeological discovery after another, religious scholars from every discipline and many Christian institutions understand that the Biblical story isn’t quite as men have presented it for centuries.
It is not the truth of Rick Perry or John Hagee or Mike Bickle. The archaeological discoveries tell a very different story, the true story of the time of Christ and founding of Christianity. Science blasts undeniable holes in the theory of Creationism and the story of Adam and Eve.
The undeniable scientific truth about women’s history is unfolding monthly. The truth promises to undermine the foundations of what these people preach — which is why they hate science and women like Oprah.
More Anne writing:
In research done last year, Professor Edelman reviewed the paid transactions in America from this adult website. Eight of the top 10 states voted for John McCain, not President Obama.
Utah, home to many Mormans, was the top subscriber state of pornography from this company. I have personally reviewed IP addresses from another adult site, not related to Edelman’s research — this one very upscale and international — and Mesa, Arizona, also home to upper class Mormons, was the top city. driving traffic to the website.
In the Edelman research, after Utah being the top subscriber state of porn, Mississippi was the third biggest user. Mississippi represents the largest American Baptist congregation.
Morality Police and Me
The morality police, as I call men all over the world who are devoted to shaming women with our alleged responsibility in the downfall of humanity, must understand that these contradictions between words and deeds create a lack of respect with someone like myself.
I’m the woman judged as being immoral and the temptress of men by the same men who privately consume a voracious amount of pornography. Moving all my websites to Anne of Carversville allows us to analyze events through the complete prism of American life.
This is why you will find sexy photos from fashion and design magazines, now helping us understand trends in global life, including America. Previously, I worried about upsetting people with the sexy side of American life, but given that Conservatives and the morality police view more porn than anyone, and then threaten women for being immoral — sorry, it’s all too schizoid for me and for most women.
In our crazy world, I was reluctant to write exactly what I meant on Aug. 14, 2009. I had been accosted in Brooklyn, on my way into Manhattan with my guy, by Muslim men who turned to him, telling him that he should give me to them, so they could take me to the mosque and teach me how to dress properly.
I am so concerned about the future of America that I will fill out my statement today:
Shakira Google-wide quotes on sexuality:
“Women have this primary, basic, animalistic urge. It goes beyond sex.”
“Freedom is more than a state of mind. It relates to many different parts of our lives, not only sexual pleasure. But sex is the origin of life, the ultimate human expression.”
“Ten years ago I was very traditional and very conservative. But people grow and change. I am in another moment in my life. I feel more like a woman today.”
Shakira’s words, quoted two years ago on Aug. 14, 2009 are my own.
She speaks for me and millions of women worldwide, who are not getting back in our cages without a fight. Many men don’t want us in cages either. They are worried sick for their daughters.
I have no delusions that this is a fight, perhaps to the finish, but you can count me in, come hell or high water. I have found my Inner Artist, my inner Anne vision. I will never again let the woman who is me, be chopped into little pieces, for the sake of cultural propriety.
I’m dallying over the keyboard here. Write, erase. Write, erase. I will pause before writing the words in my mouth. Y-W-H-T-K-M-F.
A Smart Sensuality woman thinks carefully about what she writes in cyberspace. In our sick world, my thought might be taken as an invitation.
Today I will write the ending to the essay, even though I was under police protection for a year, stalked by one of these crazy right-wingers who wanted to kill me 30 years ago, at the height of the women’s movement.
Instead of Y-W-H-T-K-M-F, it is time to write:
I have no delusions that this is a fight, perhaps to the finish, but you can count me in, come hell or high water. I have found my Inner Artist, my inner Anne vision. I will never again let the woman who is me, be chopped into little pieces, for the sake of cultural propriety.
I’m dallying over the keyboard here. Write, erase. Write, erase. I will pause before writing the words in my mouth. No today, I must go ahead:
You will have to kill me first. There, the deed is done — on behalf of all women everywhere. With love, Anne
