On Global Charm Offensive, Lagarde Promises Support to Developing Countries NYTimes

French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde has moved on to China from India, in her bid to become the next Managing Director of the IMF. Following her to India is her chief rival, Mexican central bank Governor Agustin Carstens, who will arrive on Friday afternoon.

The diplomatic Lagarde said that a little part of her ‘would turn Indian’ if she were elected to head the IMF.

If elected, Ms. Lagarde said Tuesday, she would “stand on my feet as a woman,” adding that she would stand “with a level of testosterone that would be lower.”

She also said she would continue reforms that have given emerging markets more weight in the fund’s decision-making process.

The likelihood of a near international concensus backing Christine Lagarde for the top IMF spot is growing.

People who know Abedin well, said it was totally in character of her not to be standing by his side at Monday’s press conference, because she is a very private person.

She did receive behavioral advice from the Clinton inner circle after her husband’s tearful speech on Monday.

“I think people have been very deferential to her in terms of being a political spouse,” said a person close to the couple. “She’s not Mrs. Anthony Weiner. She’s Huma Abedin. She’s been known to many people for a very long time, and they’ve continued to respect her boundaries…This has been the first time she has encountered anything otherwise.”

The two women Clinton and Abedin — now both seasoned in the ways of men with powerful egos — have left the country on a diplomatic mission to the Middle East.

We were listening to this Chris Matthews pontification Monday night and practically fell off the sofa during this episode. Listen to Matthews say that if Huma Abedin knew about her husband’s Internet texting behavior before she married him, she may well be ‘party responsible’. Say what?????

At least Chris Matthews is totally consistent in one event after another, behavior that justifies why women went to NBC and protested against his on air chauvinism. Chris’ sexism is historic and will never change.

Chris Matthews Pontificating about Huma Abedin’s Partial Responsibility in Weiner’s Sexting Problem

Near the end of the broadcast, Matthews clarified, saying:

‘Putting a bit of the blame on her, I don’t think that’s fair. I hope I didn’t give the impression that I agreed with that. I certainly don’t. This is his problem. People love people, they marry them despite their faults.’

It’s safe to assume that a voice in his ear piece said: ‘Matthews, are you out of your f****** mind. SHE is not responsible.’

We don’t believe for one moment that Chris got to that clarification on his own, because he NEVER retracts his words. He’s a raging, egotistical, media bull with his own agenda that he plays over and over and over again. Women don’t sit high on that list, and we all know it.
