Frenchman Tron Resigns, Saying He’s Victim of ‘Across the Atlantic’ Thinking
French minister quits over sexual harassment claims AFP
French civil service minister Georges Tron resigned hours ago, after being accused of sexually harassing two women who worked for him at town hall where he is mayor. In his resignation letter to President Nicolas Sarkozy, Tron insisted that he will prove his innocence.
The two women, aged 34 and 36, claimed that Tron assaulted them between 2007 and 2010 while they worked in the town hall of the south Paris suburb Draveil, where Tron is mayor.
Tron blames National Front leader Marine Le Pen living in Draveil, which prompted Le Pen to announce that she was suing him for defamation.
“I am not naive. They are trying to echo what’s happening on the other side of the Atlantic,” he told AFP on Tuesday.
Sarah Palin’s Wheels
Sarah Palin rolls into Washington on a Harley Reuters
Is she or isn’t she running Sarah Palin rolled into DC on the back of a Harley-Davidson Sunday, dressed in black jeans, a leather jacket and helmet. The former vice presidential candidate will be moving up the East Coast this week, giving Americans her version of American history.
Sarah is headed our way. Yup, word is her bus may roll right by Anne’s loft windows, given her six block proximity to the Liberty Bell. As you can imagine, Palin and Anne don’t agree on what the founding fathers wanted for America, given that only white men had rights. That’s for starters.
Women, slaves and Indians — to name three groups — were left out of the process. This vision is Sarah Palin’s key argument in returning to the original vision of the founding fathers, the argument that the Constitution was written in principles of stone. If Anne only knew when and if Palin is arriving in Philadelphia, she would be there to hear her. Mum’s the word.

Love Don’t Cost a Thing: Can Educating girls Alone Curb China’s Mistress Epidemic? TIME
Guangdona province is one of China’s wealthiest regions. With money and sucess has come a flood of ‘ernai’ or ‘second breast’ women. Worldwide, these women are known as the mistress. In today’s China, having a mistress or more is a sign of success and power.
Breaking this centuries-old social customs is difficult but Lei Yulan, vice governor of Guangdong is trying to implement a pioneering ‘female education program’ across elementary and high schools. The goal is one of teaching girls to depend on themselves and not ‘sugar daddies’ for their future. Self-reliance, self-esteem, self-confidence and self-improvement are perceived as keys to her future.
