Tropic of C Sexy Swimwear Leads with Sustainability Message

The crochet trend will be huge in the spring 2022 season and Tropic of C’s print and pattern visual statement delivers both real crochet and crochet-inspired designs. The first moment I laid eyes on these images, my reaction was to make a collaboration between Tropic of C and Chloé.
AOC is moving to lean-in even heavier on sustainability, after hearing that some luxury brands think speaking to sustainability progress dilutes the primary fashion excitement. Sustainability is nice for the planet, but it can be a downer. People’s brains can’t handle both concepts — exciting design and sustainability — simultaneously.

Tropic of C invites eager boho spirits to join the brand on a market carpet ride that is grounded in sustainability and supporting women’s networks globally. We have no idea what the brand revenue is of Tropic of C. But these talented businesswomen have figured out how to launch a new brand that is perfectly timed with today’s current realities and progressive consumer values.

AOC now spends hours having to educate ourselves on a brand’s sustainability positioning, because it’s closeted and found in About Us.
Not Tropic of C. Even their Google ads lead with the word ‘Sustainable’. Nor is sustainability a stepchild on Tropic of C’s Instagram.
Congrats as always, Candice and Daniela. You are setting the pace with cutting-edge, vibrant design looks in the Gabriela Hearst for Chloé tradition, and making those looks planet-friendly.
We couldn’t ask for more — except for your brand to expand its wings and fly as high as you can soar. Watching you carefully, I can see that you don’t have the flaw of Icarus. You are not drowning in your own hubris, and you’re very methodical, calculating and consistent in your every move, Tropic of C, ladies.
