V Magazine collaborates with Spanish denim brand Lois to feature the trailblazers. The originally Spanish, now Dutch-owned brand is launching a sustainable denim collection Lois V Denim. V Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Stephen Gan collaborated on the development of the new denim collection. The collab is only discussed on the ‘buy V Magazine’ page. AOC learned about the collab searching for sustainability credentials for Lois Jeans, as we always do. Talk about a soft sell.

Nyja Abdullah: Modeling for two years — one in COVID lockdown — Abdullah is signed to both the men’s and women’s [divisions] of fashion world. Believing that models don’t really represent gender fluidity, the Jacksonville, Fla raised Nyja says: “I am gay, but I’m very gender-fluid, especially when it comes to clothing.” Read the interview.
Ashley Graham: The rising business mogul says she doesn’t rely on crystal balls to tell her what’s in store for her life. Her top priority is speaking with kindness and putting positive energy and good intentions into the universe. Vinson Fraley: The dancer, musician and [unknown] vocalist has a rich background, referencing an early exposure to dancer and choreographer Alvin Ailey in his Black History assembly. Emily Ratajowski: The model, businesswoman, activist and now author talks to V Magazine about finding her voice through publishing. “Publishing one of my essays, entitled ‘Buying Myself Back’ in New York Magazine in 2020 felt like a big turning point for me,” she tells V.

Asked about access to a new superpower, Alabama-native Champion has an endearing answer: “To have the power to make people feel better about themselves. Taras Romanov: Rising model and aspiring actor Romanov expresses the same response to moving to New York experienced that so many of us relate to. “The city showed me a different world: a more inspirational one. It showed me that my dreams were possible through hard work and determination. Eileen Gu: Olympic skier Eileen Gu remembers well the first experience that inspired her sports mentality. “Being the first [girl] on my all-boys team to slide a rail sideways at age 8! My coach and teammates lined up to cheer me on, and that first rush of euphoria after breaking past my own fears was the spark that got me hooked on freeskiing.” Gu also rejects the crystal ball, saying that life is exciting because of its predictability.
