Paris-born model Aya Jones remembers nothing about her August 2016 Jet Ski accident off the coast of tiny island Ko Phangan. When an emergency operation fished her broken body out of the Gulf of Thailand and flew her at low altitude — due to her cracked cranium — to Bangkok, many believed she would not survive.

They were wrong. Armed with a deep understanding about the fragility of life for such a young, vibrant woman Aya Jones recovered in spectacular fashion, appearing in these winter images that are as far away from the Gulf of Thailand as one can imagine.
