Gigi Hadid in Prada 365 Resort 2020 Special Project ‘Seditious Simplicity’

Miuccia Prada placed a bet for her Resort 2020 Collection that luxury consumers might just be “camped out” and ready for a resort palate cleanser. With her namesake brand racking up an estimated $864 million loss largely from a decline in China revenues, there was another incentive for the designer to create a luxurious breathing space with layered, classic separates aplenty.

Willy Vanderperre captures what Prada calls ‘Seditious Simplicity” or complexity subverted as Miuccia’s powerful women take center stage at New York City’s Piano Factory. Gloss pink columns disrupting rough concrete, dynamic perspectives and warped lens effects all contribute to an alternative view of the familiar and the seditious simplicity of the collection.
