Sensuality 2010 | Part 1

Anne of Carversville is committed to making sensuality virtuous. We embrace the concept of responsible pleasure as a life-enhancing, spiritual approach to living honorably in concert with humanity, loved ones and nature.

As a top sensuality trends expert, lingerie design consultant and 10-year executive of Victoria’s Secret, Anne Enke has tracked the growing Smart Sensuality confrontation between the sensualists and pornographers for the last decade.

Two additional overviews will focus on New Eroticism, the contact point between erotic and nude photography with pornography, and Religious Rites, one of the strongest trends of this year’s editorials.

We have never seen so much religious iconography and so many veiled women in our fashion memory.  The majority of these editorials come from the foreign media and not America, where we are stuck in the muck of believing that sensuality is sinful.

Unable to rewrite the Bible and acknowledging that 65% of American women believe that God is a ‘he’ and knows their every move, we seek to work one on one with American women and those in other countries where sensuality is suppressed, making the case that being a sensual woman is not immoral or anti-religious.

In 2010 we’ve seen a major evolution into sensual editorials that resonate emotionally and honestly with women around the world. The photographers that stand out in our minds: Camilla Akrans and Mario Sorrenti to name our top image-makers speak our Smart Sensuality language.

While 2010 hasn’t seen the total demise of Terry Richardson’s pornified approach to imaging women, it is indisputable that his influence has waned. It will be Richardson’s choice whether he evolves or not.

Unlike Terry Richardson, we don’t believe that every woman wants to be a porn star.

We do believe that millions of women would like a more sensual relationship with their bodies, if only conservative cultures and religions would encourage this union of mind and spirit. Monotheism typically condemns sensuality, leaving women worldwide to live with the patriarchal whims of the global morality police from America to Sudan.

Anne of Carversville works to create a sensual perspective rooted in beauty and eroticism, whether the topic is flowers or fashion editorial. We do not track all fashion editorials, but only ones that resonate with our senses.

Our strategy has received major support in 2010 and we are clear-headed and confident of the road ahead, as we move into 2011.

The editorials chosen for this overview live here at AOC and also Sensuality News. We will articulate our evolving editorial strategy between the two websites soon. There are no major content changes planned, only refinement and an expansion of our erotic material on Sensuality News.

These editorials aren’t presented in a particular order or set of priorities, except to highlight initially the work of Camilla Akrans. The images are uploaded in 3 parts and will be completed Thursday, Jan. 30.

A separate research meaningmaker brief will be available for purchase by the end of January 2011.

There is nudity in many of these editorials. They carry an N with the title, only if breast nipples or explicit frontal nudity exists. Our readers expect a beautiful exposure of human skin on our websites.  Anne
