Two beauties from Ellen von Unwerth: one brand new and the other aging. Hürrem Sultan or Karima, born Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska, known to Europeans informally as simply Roxelana (c. 1500–1506 – April 18, 1558) was the wife of Süleyman the Magnificent of the Ottoman Empire.
Roxelana’s history, the inspiration behind the Vogue Turkey editorial is legendary.
Googling the question ‘Does Vogue Italia make money?’ we found this excellent 2010 interview with Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani. This 2002 EVR editorial reminds us of the visual dreamscapes EVR the image maker creates, when the editor shares her sensory DNA and budget.
