The actress talks about her custody battle with Gabriel Aubry over daughter Nahla, which is mired down in series of arguments over Nahla’s racial identity.

Resolution: Berry and Aubry reached a final custody and financial settlement in November 2012, followed by a major support order in June 2014. The resolution also granted joint legal and physical custody of their daughter Nahla. Berry’s request to move their daughter to France was also denied.

In 2021, the monthly child support payment was modified and lowered to $8,000 per month [down from $16,000 a month], with an added stipulation requiring Berry to pay 4.3% of any yearly income exceeding $1.95 million. Berry also paid Aubry a retroactive lump sum of $115,000 in back support and $300,000 for his attorney fees. 

Nahla graduated from high school in June 2026 and is off to an undisclosed college. Halle Berry lives in Los Angeles and is engaged to musician Van Hunt. Halle’s son 12-years-old Maceo-Robert Martinez lives in Los Angeles, primarily with his mother.
