‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner tells Porter Editor that she’s taking married life day by day, “floating at the moment” in the days after her not-to-secret May 1 in Las Vegas marriage to Joe Jonas.

There’s no doubt that the couple would have kept their marriage under wraps had DJ Diplo not live streamed the whole ceremony without asking them.

"It's tricky when people live stream it. It would have been better if no one had known, but I actually think it was funny," she explains.

When asked how long she would have liked to keep her nuptials hidden from the public, Turner replies, "Maybe not forever. I think at some point I would have had to stop saying 'fiance,' but yes, I would have kept it a secret."

"Marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be," she adds. "It's not about the dress. It’s not about the food. It's about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever."

The newly-minted ‘ X-Men: Dark Phoenix star’ is thankful to her husband for supporting her public struggles with depression and anxiety.

Brits are notoriously under-wraps when dealing with depression in a public way. And Turner is the focus of vicious online trolling — a “grisly part of global success in the digital age”.

‘The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.”

"My parents are still like, 'Why do you go to therapy?' and I'm like, 'Because I'm depressed, remember?'" she says. "It's a very British thing -- that idea you should just get on with it, 'chin up.' Therapy is seen as a bit self-indulgent, a bit soft. But therapy and medication have helped me immeasurably."

"The first step to any kind of movement is just to put it out there, talk about it and make it less of a taboo so that people can go and get help and not feel embarrassed to do so," she explains. "People feel so much shame about it, so if, by talking about it, I can even have an impact on one person, that would be awesome."

Circling back with Mulkerrins days after ‘The Game of Thrones’ final episode, Sophie Turner is happy with Sansa’s fate as the newly-crowned Queen of the North.

“It’s like that line of Sansa’s from season seven: ‘The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.’ I love that line. I had it tattooed on my arm long before we knew the ending.”
