Rianne Van Rompaey's 'Last Dance' As She Leaves Modeling To Be Her Real Self
The infinitely-talented Rianne Von Rompaey covers the April 2025 issue of Harper’s Bazaar France [IG], styled by Emmanuelle Alt in ‘Rianne, Last Dance’. Carlijn Jacobs [IG] photographs the aspiring actor — and perhaps future screenwriter and/or producer.
This may be one of the last times we see the Dutch model in 2024/5 campaigns for Chanel, Chloé, Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford and more. Rianne also does an unusual amount of editorial work — all on this AOC link.
Especially after completing her first short film in fall 2024, working with director David Finlay, Rianne Van Rompaey wants to plunge into this new world of creative opportunities. I watched the 8-minute film this morning —which Rianne wrote, starred in and produced — and was highly impacted by the film itself and Rianne’s superior talents.

Dutch sensual beauty and top model Rianne Van Rompaey delivers spectacular images for the Chloé [IG] SS 2025 campaign. Elodie David styles Rianne in sublime images by David Sims [IG].
The campaign is privileged escapism at its best. In this complicated time in our shared global history, it may surprise you to read AOC say “we’re here for it.” The campaign images are a welcome quickie getaway that absolutely recharges our minds and bodies.
Our resilience needs nourishment, no matter how dedicated we are to the fight for democratic, humanist values. This campaign delivers.

Coco Chanel's connection to Villa Noailles [IG] is a fascinating chapter in fashion history. That unique relationship is expressed in the Chanel [IG] Spring 2024 ad campaign and also in lush floral prints inspired by the villa itself, located in Hyères, in the heart of the South of France.
This year, the campaign stars actor Riley Keough, named days ago as Chanel’s new ambassador, alongside longtime Chanel muse, supermodel Rianne Van Rompaey.
Villa Noailles was celebrated at Chanel’s Spring 2024 PFW runway show last October. The new campaign by frequent Chanel collaborators Inez and Vinoodh [IG], unfolds in the villa’s garden and its iconic pink room, envisioned as sanctuaries of creativity and happiness for the Chanel woman.

Bibi Cornejo Borthwick with WeFolk [IG] agency photographs the 10 models, talents and ambassadors for these remaining images, styled by Isabelle Kountoure.

Zara creates a capsule collection THIRTEEN PIECES, designed for the woman who owns her own identity. These are timeless pieces that avoid any type of frill and act as a backdrop for the woman, whose elegance and attitude position her center stage.

Tom Ford Beauty shares a voluptuous new campaign and reformulation of its Café Rose fragrance. The scent was first introduced in 2012 and is worn today by top Dutch model Rianne van Rompaey.
In the new campaign, styled by Carine Roitfeld, master photographer Steven Klein [IG] follows a dreamy van Rompaey into a spare but sensual room showered with rose petals. The intoxicating atmosphere takes Rianne into a semi-orgasmic state as she is loved up by the petals, her body writhing in a state of sensually-aware semi-consciousness.

Dutch fashion model Rianne Van Rompaey covers the second 2023 issue of Harper’s Bazaar France, photographed in London by Alasdair McLellan [IG].
Today’s popular culture does not value discretion, but we don’t see an obvious financial price to be paid for models living a lower-profile life.
As long as a model remains respected and popular enough to generate income in media or on the runway — she must create value for her clients, after all — s[he] may enjoy a well-rounded life of experiences and opportunities that most people only dream about. These pros aren’t caught up in the social media hype machine that reduces models earning $20 million a year and more to weep live on IG over the misery of their lives and unfair Instagram comments.
Rianne Van Rompaey has that balance in her life. So do Vittoria Ceretti and Saskia De Brauw. Two Dutch models and an Italian. When one considers that it’s the Americans who weep, this reality begs for more thought. It’s a light bulb moment!!
Loro Piana is also on an Italian grand tour in the cashmere brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 campaign.

Writing about Loro Piana’s Fall 2022 collection and campaign, AOC shared highly-specific information about a decade’s worth of the brand’s processes and control over its cashmere production.
‘Transparency’ is a stake in the ground among today’s cashmere brands, including less expensive but very well-run cashmere labels. There is no “Don’t worry, be happy, I’ve got this issue under control so you don’t have to worry” in today’s cashmere business.
Fashion world got a major wakeup this morning with a preview of the January 2023 Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama campaign.
Yayoi Kusama, Age 93, Rolls Again with Louis Vuitton
LV makes a big move putting Gisele Bundchen front and center in a second, historical collaboration with revered Japanese creative Yayoi Kusama, one of the world’s pre-eminent artists at age 93.
“One of the aspects of her [Yayoi Kusama’s] work is happiness, and we thought it would be really refreshing after the pandemic to have the worlds of Vuitton and the world of Kusama meet again,” Arnault explained. The successful first collaboration between the two global giants happened in 2012.

“For fall, I wanted the collection to echo the energy and big-city glamour of New York, when you’re out on the town,” Michael Kors messaged the fashion press. “The clothes and accessories are really everything you need for stepping up, stepping out and making an entrance.”
The very best of Rianne Van Rompaey reminds us that ace models really do pose differently than faces. Rianne makes fashion magic of Chanel’s Fall Winter 2022 Campaign, lensed by Inez and Vinoodh [IG].

Top model Rianne Van Rompaey covers the November 27, 2021 M le Magazine du Monde in a fashion story that honors the ‘90s. M’s IG describes the 1990s as a “decade of demanding style, of which the Japanese designers were the masters. A clean style, a little cerebral, overflowing with energy. For uncompromising elegance.”
The 1990s Were a Setback on Many Fashion Fronts
Some have pointed out that this decade of demanding style demanded size 0 bodies in fashion magazines. The size 4-6 supermodels were increasingly no longer the body types favored by fashion editors and the fashion business leaders who sought to disempower the supers.
Many of us are digging our feet deeply into the pavement, determined to NOT have any 90s redo in a literal sense.
AOC believes that an entire rollback to size 0 white women models tripping over each other for prime time exposure will not happen in the age of social media. Then again, AOC didn’t believe the January 6 insurrection at the US capitol was possible. And we never believed that Donald Trump would become president.
Steven Meisel on photography, Fabien Baron on art direction and Karl Templer as stylist are in the house for the new Zara Studio [IG] campaign — a creative effort that sings like an opera star. It’s not often that we just look at images and in 5 seconds know the photographer behind them.
Add 10 models who aren’t wooden mannequins, and Zara Studio has — not a remarkable campaign in a fashion history sense — but a unique, superbly-executed campaign that knocks on the doors of women’s psyches with joy, inner convictions and backbone. it makes AOC want a campaign or fashion story with women all around the world roaring in unison.
We love it, and AOC tends to reject campaigns and fashion stories that are formulaic. So Zara, Meisel, Baron and Templer took 10 unique faces: Amar Akway, Chiharu Okunugi, Kirsten Owen, Marisa Berenson, Meadow Walker, Precious Lee, Raquel Zimmermann, Rianne van Rompaey, Sasha Pivovarova and Yumi Nu and mixed a grade AAAAA studio campaign. That IS NOT an easy feat. ~ Anne
