Prada Privatesphere Holiday 2023 Campaign Triggers Our Reflection on Elon Musk
/Today’s luxury brands run multiple campaigns for holiday, some only on social media and digital platforms, but not in print. These very futuristic images for Prada’s Holiday 2023 Privatesphere campaign are not the only visual statements Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons are making for the holiday. But they are very cool . . . and disruptive.
AOC’s first reaction to these Prada holiday, model-focused images has nothing to do with buying gifts for friends and family this holiday season. Prada brand ambassadors Damson Idris, Kim Tae-Ri, Louis Partridge and Maya Thurman-Hawke are lensed/filmed by Willy Vanderperre [IG] with creative direction by Ferdinando Verderi.
The Prada product shots are by Amiel Laurent [IG].
Prada and the Future of Humanity
Anne’s response was focused on a deeply-felt anxiety that she would feel so much better if Prada Group owned Starlink, X and SpaceX — rather than Elon Musk. The ‘l’enfant terrible’ with a massive daddy complex can keep Tesla.
This terrible sense of foreboding came earlier this year, watching Musk’s punishing, easy to roil-up personality in action. Musk threatened to refuse activitating Starlink over Ukraine, after Russia bombed the Internet to smithereens.
Forget his contracts with the US government. Musk will do as he damn-well pleases.
Al Jezeera, who AOC reads regularly, shared the high praise Putin lavished on on the South Africa-born Musk.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, one of the most hawkish voices in the Kremlin, agreed, describing Musk as “the last adequate mind in North America”. Presumably Musk agrees.
Prada As Our Guardian
Elon Musk is so volatile, autocratic and insecure — so Trump-like or — even worse — a cold and calculating 2001 Hal 9000, that it would be great for human civilization if somehow Prada had a far more important role in space travel, besides designing space suits.
“The constantly forward-thinking ethos of Prada for humanity has broadened to his desire of adventure and to brave new horizons: space,” Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group marketing director, stated with the announcement that Prada is partnering with Texas-based Axiom Space to design the lunar space suits for the hopefully-glorious 2025 Artemis III mission. [Anne’s non-quoted words.]
Would Elon Musk Blow Up a NASA Spaceship?
AOC believes that Elon Musk is totally capable of blowing up a NASA space ship as his revenge on humanity for our not bowing down to him. On Artemis III, Space X Starship is reponsible for the human lander design that will take the NASA astronauts to the Moon’s surface. Once the astronauts are outside the mothership, they are totally reliant on the mind and intentions of Elon Musk and Space X.
We’ve seen just how volatile many men can be in recent years, and Elon Musk is leading the parade of genius men — also seemingly-possessed with a dangerous psychological capacity for destruction. Donald Trump and Kanye West are self-appointed geniuses, but they are not on AOC’s list.
Anne is not a psychiatrist, but these guys scare the wits out of her.
Musk Never Met a High-Wire Act He Avoided
From all we know, Elon Musk is a true genius but also a man who has a deep passion for his own-high-wire act. When Bill Gates says that Elon Musk has a capacity for risktaking — one so intense that Gates really can’t imagine it in his own self — we should listen up.
Note that Gates wasn’t being negative or critical about Musk. Just observational. Having heard that interview live, and thinking about it yesterday — as Musk threw yet another temper tantrum in an interview — Anne gulped.
In an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box co-anchor Andrew Sorkin on Wednesday, November 30, Elon Musk told the advertisers boycotting X over his ‘sure-seemed like antisemitism to all of us’ comments — to go f#ck themselves. Specifically, Musk was focused on Disney’s Bob Iger as well as the larger group of advertisers like Apple, IBM, Warner Bros, Sony, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Lionsgate.
Musk doubled down, too, leaving Sorkin visibly without words and suspended in astonishment.
Now do you understand why Anne would like Prada to have a far more critical role in the next space mission than designing the space suits or creating a cool Holiday 2023 ad campaign?
Prada, we trust not to harm humanity. Elon Musk we do not trust. It’s simple.
AOC feels very helpless in thinking about Elon Musk’s power over the world. But this is Anne’s authentic response to these Prada Holiday 2023 images. Knowing about Prada’s involvement with our beloved Artemis III mission spacesuits, we would feel so much better swapping out Miuccia and Raf for Musk when Artemis lifts off next time. Of course, they need Space X’s outstanding team at their side. But we would be far less anxious about Artemis III with Musk sidelined and Prada in the driver’s seat.
We’re grateful to Prada for creating an opportunity for AOC to speak truth to power. Sorry, guys. Anne had to do it, as humanity needs you and only she is crazy enough to write this important post, imploring NASA to do something about the evil genius in our midst. ~ AOC for Anne
