Equestrians Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner in Grand Tetons for American Vogue October 2025

Superdupers Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner cover the October 2025 issue of American Vogue [IG], wearing Miu Miu. The sisterly, California natives grew up horseback riding for pleasure and personal therapy, inspired by their families to dream big and reach for the stars.

Dubbed ‘KenGi’ when they landed on the fashion scene in the early 2010s, the twosome has long looked after each other in both a professional and personal sense.

“People don’t know a lot of the ways that we’re similar and the ways we find peace in each other,” says Gigi. Adds Kendall: “We’re sisters more than we’re friends.”

Many young women saw the world through the eyes of Vogue, knowing a wanderlust that rarely ran out of gas until the notorious March 2011 Vogue profile of Asma-al-Assad, titled ‘A Rose in the Desert ‘ stopped us all in our tracks. This woman was the wife of one of the world’s greatest despots after all. Why in the world was Vogue making her sound like the beloved Queen Rania of Jordan!!

An Update: Syria’s government fell in December, 2024 and the Assad family fled to Moscow, living now under the protection of Vladimir Putin.

"I think that Vogue is always on the lookout for good-looking first ladies because they're a combination of power and beauty and elegance," interview author Joan Juliet Buck said in the aftermath of stunned readers including AOC searching for the best words to describe our jaw-dropping responses to the famous interview. Buck concluded her commentary with "That's what Vogue is about.”

Gigi and Kendall aren’t first ladies, but they meet every other criteria for what Vogue searches for in their feature stories. How that will change under the editorial purview of Chloe Malle — named the new Head of Editorial Content at Vogue US — is unclear. Malle will report to Anna Wintour, along with 10 other global heads.

Chloe Malle is the writer of the Kendall and Gigi interview. AOC’s reaction is that she doesn’t really insert herself into the interview, which Anne appreciates. The interview is heavier than spun sugar on a stick at the state fair — almost folksy — but definitely apolitical, no comentary about the world writ large. No serious questions about the life of either dream girl . . . just two longtime, down-home friends having a scat style, verbal bubblebath. And Chloe Malle writes it all down in short, crisp sentences.

Both Kendall and Gigi have recent appearances on AOC in features and campaigns that take them into the fashion stratosphere. Kendall’s new L’Oréal Paris x Mugler campaign is first-rate. Gigi’s new Miu Miu story in V Magazine 156 is stellar.
