Actor/director Olivia Wilde has received mixed reviews on her delivery of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, a movie starring Florence Pugh, set in Trumpian-style, 50’s domesticity — a bit of “The Stepford Wives,” a whole lot of “Mad Men” said reviews.

After loving Wilde’s directorial debut ‘Booksmart’, more than one reviewer said ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ lacked the emotional depth of ‘Booksmart’. Actor Harry Styles didn’t receive high praise either for playing the patriarch of this appearances-only idyllic, suburban Southern California enclave.

The usual breakup rumors about Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles followed the movie’s debut — but were they even a couple at all?

Reality weighed in this week, with Olivia Wilde attending the Kia Forum Los Angeles Harry Styles concert Tuesday night, accompanied by kids Otia and Daisy. While performing ‘Kiwi’ from his self-titled debut LP, Styles was bombarded with Skittles thrown at him — into his eyes.

It appears conclusive that Styles has not been blinded in one eye, but a fuselage of Skittles flying at one’s cornea when one is distracted by singing, bright lights and an electrified audience can do serious damage.

Update: Hours after our post, Styles and Wilde announced that they were taking a break on their two-year relationship, although they remain very close friends.

Returning to Olivia Wilde, she stood firm after the September 2022 Venice premiere debut of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, telling Vanity Fair writer Julie Miller:

“No amount of internet bullying can cause me to question my belief in a movie made collectively by so many brilliant people. We worked too hard, and went through too much together, to be derailed by something that really has nothing to do with filmmaking.”
