Elizaveta Porodina Captures Kylie Jenner in Jean Paul Gaultier " Flowers" Campaign
/Kylie Jenner [IG], with 389M IG followers, takes a mermaid-worthy immersion into the world of Jean Paul Gaultier for the brand’s new “FLOWERS” IS OUT campaign.
Although the collection is called “Flowers”, Jenner has a Madonna moment in a blush-colored, lingerie-style slip with cones cups.
Jean Paul Gaultier fashion creative director, Florence Tétier, told press that Jenner matched "the representation of a modern mermaid that I was looking for" and her idea for the collection of "augmented nature with the floral references taken from the maison's archives."
Many people haven’t recognized Kylie Jenner because of her mermaid hair. Photographer Elizaveta Porodina [IG] is behind the lens. See the collection online. French artist Jean-Vincent Simonet collaborated with the design team on the "liquid" print of flowers fabrics.
At a collection launch event at The Webster in New York on Tuesday night, Jenner wore the Simonet flowers printed on a lingerie-inspired, nude tulle, long sleeves body slip.
According to the house, Jean Paul Gaultier's collections were strewn with flowers throughout the early 2000s. The spring 2023 offering includes a silk twill twinset and skirts, tops and bathrobes make of stretch tulle.
The optical stripes are very modern and their futuristic twist on tulle makes them visually a prime backdrop for Elizaveta Porodina’s images.
Describing herself as a “JPG girl” in the month of May 2023, Kylie Jenner wore a fiery red gown by Jean Paul Gaultier's spring guest couturier Haider Ackermann for the recent Met Gala, and a black-and-white one for the after parties.
The Haider Ackermann Red Dress Came With Big Rules
We’re not sure how much Kylie was paid but there were rules, based on a new video of the event,
"I would not like you to sit down," Ackermann instructed Jenner as she tried on the gown a few days before the Gala. "And I would not like you to move this arm," he added, pointing to the arm wearing the full-length sleeve.
"Got it. No moving," Jenner said with a smile.
Later in the video, Jenner stood in a van on the way to the Met. "I mean, if I drop my coat, I can sit down?" Jenner asked Ackermann. "No?"
"No," the designer responded.
