Prada Balm in Banana Yellow Adds Charm to Capri 'Days of Summer' Experience
/AOC returns to Prada’s [IG] ‘Days of Summer’ marketing campaign, where the Prada pink gozzo is moored beside the Prada Capri boutique, at Via Roma 2, until July 13th.
Gozzos for Capri Lovers
The burgeoning tourism industry in Capri has created a demand for personalized experiences, and excursions on gozzos offer an intimate way to explore the natural beauty of the island.
These boats provide an ideal platform for tours around the island, offering a serene experience with opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and photography in the crystal-clear Mediterranean waters. Additionally, they enable access to secluded beaches and coves that are otherwise unreachable, enhancing the allure of these excursions.
Prada’s gozzos are situated in multiple places on the island of Capri, on and off the shores of Lido del Faro, a beach club located on the Punta Carena bay, in Anacapri. The more tranquil side of the island is known for its rugged cliffs and sweeping views of the sea. Those little gozzos below seem right at home in these relatively calm waters.
[Interlude]
Not wanting to be negative just now, the word that came to my mind looking at the Prada photo is ‘choppy’. But I chose “relatively calm” because the Prada Beauty lip balm images that follow are so intoxicating that I wanted to perpetuate their delicious mood. They give me an endorphin rush of positivity.
Choppy waters can be ominous and who needs needless more negativity or fear injections. Researching the history of gozzos just now, it has come to AOC’s attention that the small wooden vessels are prized for their robust construction and adaptability “to the choppy waters around Capri.”
The design of the gozzo, featuring a pointed bow and rounded stern, reflects an evolution born from centuries of seafaring experience, making it especially suited to the unique maritime conditions of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
There must be a life lesson of some kind around Anne’s word choices.
Prada Beauty Lip Balms in Macaron Colors
This Prada campaign is being executed with such mesmerizing colors that Prada Beauty lip balms remind me of French macarons. Scratch that. I mean Italian macaron colors.
The historical facts about macarons are that they actually originated in Italy. Who knew? They were introduced to French pastry makers — les pâtissiers — during the Renaissance, resulting in a unique way of cementing an important European alliance and unity.
Italian macarons were produced in Venetian monasteries since the 8th century AD. But they hit the big-time, when French queen Catherine de’ Medici’s Italian pastry chefs travelled with her to France in 1533 when she married Henry II of France. More research is required on this juicy story.
The marriage of the two 14-year-olds was arranged by Pope Clement VII, who was Catherine's great-uncle, to fortify the alliance between France and the Papal States. This historical nugget builds on the Avignon Papacy, from 1309 to 1377, our history lesson from the recent Louis Vuitton show in Avignon.
Prada Revives a Beloved Print in Mouthwatering Banana Yellow
Prada Balm in Banana Yellow revives the iconic motif of the Prada Spring / Summer 2011 collection, reinventing it in the most unexpected ways.
From fashion to beauty, Prada Balm in Banana Yellow reveals new possibilities for this timeless pattern, which embodies the brand’s renowned harmonious balance of playfulness and sophistication – from the vibrant yellow bullet and banana-inspired scent to the golden warm luster finish it leaves upon the lips.
Color-changing lip oils, balms, and glosses have surged in popularity in the last year. Prada ambassador Sabrina Carpenter wears the Banana Yellow lip balm below. WWD reports that when she wore the Astral Pink in a TikTok video in June, it was viewed over 50 million times and sold out immediately worldwide.
Taken from Prada Beauty’s IG, the Carpenter picture below has 733,227 views in 5 days.
With a granita-inspired finish, the Prada Balm in Banana Yellow melts on contact, leaving a warm golden luster behind. Is banana gelato being served at the beach club and also in front of the Prada boutique in Capri? One assumes so, if only in my mind which finds pleasure in these images. ~ Anne
