Paulina Porizkova in Numéro Netherlands December 2025 Lensed by William Ferchichi

Top model Paulina Porizkova [IG], age 60, has led a very public, digital life in recent years — even getting dressed in the morning on Instagram Live. Porizkova is engaged and shares a podcast with writer Jeff Greenstein, showrunner for the once very popular ‘Will and Grace’ weekly TV show.

Porizkova prides herself — just like Pamela Anderson — in being photographed without makeup for unretouched photos. When she does wear makeup — or appear in images with retouching — Porizkova requires a light touch.

The Universe Giveth and It Takes Away

Discovered at age 15, Paulina Porizkova became the first woman from Central Europe to appear on the cover of the 1984 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue at age 18. In recent years, the vivacious beauty recalled her house burning down — either the day she got the news about her Sports Illustrated cover or the next day.

“They called, and they said, ‘Guess what? You got the Sports Illustrated cover.’ And I think that night, or the night right after that, my house burned down to the ground, and I lost everything I owned.”

Porizkova remembered having nothing left but an overcoat, her dog and cat and a passport. These swings in her life were outlined in her acclaimed memoir ‘No Filter’, which confronts aging, beauty standards, grief, and identity with rare candor.

A short time later after her Sports Illustrated cover, a historic multimillion-dollar Estée Lauder contract cemented Porizkova’s status as a supermodel of the era. Her creative journey expanded into film, television, and writing and and marriage to Richard Ocasek [The Cars Frontman] as his third wife 21 years younger than the musician. In 2025, she rejoined Estée Lauder as a Global Ambassador, this time with a powerful mission: championing age inclusivity and reframing what beauty means for women at every stage of life.

Ocasek and Porizkova legally separated in 2018, after 28 years of marriage. Ocasek became seriously ill and they were still married when he passed away unexpectedly in September 2019. but after a long-term illness from which he seemed to be recovering.

There was no disputing the reality that his wife served as his primary healthcare giver during his illness, nursing him to what seemed to be a recovery before his death. This was not a legal requirement, but Porizkova rose to the occasion.

It came as a shock to all who knew her that Ocasek's will, written shortly before his death, stated he provided nothing for Porizkova because she had "abandoned" him during their divorce. His sentiments also included their two sons, now adults.

Ocasek had distributed his assets to his four other children from his prior marriages 30+ years prior.

Luckily, the couple lived in New York, where marital law does not permit such an action. But the former supermodel was left in severe financial distress until what she calls a “fair” settlement was reached with the estate.
