Post-partum depression is a very real condition that gets too little support in contemporary society. About 1 in 7 American women suffer from medically-diagnosed post-partum depression.

This condition is different from the 70-80 percent of all new mothers who have bouts of temporary depression, anxiety and even anger in the weeks after birth.
