Rihanna Covers Harper's Bazaar US March 2025 Legacy Issue, by Luis Alberto Rodriguez

She’s a “titan of music” and a “self-made mogul” who “ just might have manifested her dream life”, writes Lynette Nylander for Harper’s Bazaar US March 2025 ‘Legacy’ issue.

The People’s Pop Star is now the face of Dior’s J’adore — and you know we are speaking of Rihanna. She wears Dior exclusively in the fashion shoot styled by Carlos Nazario in images by Luis Alberto Rodriguez [IG].

What’s Love Got to Do With It?

The interview happened before the lifting of a major cloud hanging over the couple’s life and family — husband A$AP Rocky’s court case in Los Angeles. Rihanna was, of course, in the courtroom, so Anne isn’t totally ‘out of line’ in sharing the beautiful story of what happened.

Most AOC readers know about the not-guilty verdict that sent the couple into each other’s arms on February 18, 2025.

In a moment of extraordinary tension before the verdict was read, A$AP Rocky [Rakim Mayers] turned to his [white] lawyer Joe Tacopina, whose state of being was on shaky ground in that moment. Confidence in his own performance melted away, for fear his client’s life was about to go south and it would be his fault.

Like he could have done better, worked harder, found another fissure in the prosecution’s case against his client. Rocky has confirmed the story and made it clear that baby #3, whenever s[he] arrives on mother Earth, will be named after Joe Tacopina.

EVERYTHING

As Tacopina told the story, “He [Rocky] looked at me and grabbed me and he said, ‘Joe, I just want you to know I know how hard you fought here.’” When I first read those words, I got tears in my eyes. What a gift Rocky gave to Tacopina! The husband and father in this famous foursome family was not finished.

“‘I know everything you’ve done and I just appreciate you so much. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me and we’re in this together no matter what. And I love you.’”

As an emotional Joe Tacopina concluded in press interviews,

“That is rare when you have a client who is about to hear his fate and it’s obviously a very serious moment for him and he has the wherewithal and the thought to think, ‘Let me acknowledge and thank this guy.’ It was special that he did that. But it’s who he is.”

Bottle this Story into a World-Dominating Fragrance

These stories are never as headlines-dominating as the ones that divide us. Personally, I just wish there was a way to bottle this generosity of spirit into a world-dominating fragrance.

The Lynette Nylander interview is very well done. On a separate note AOC readers are 65% Apple/Mac, and you will note that difference in our links in 2025. After all these years, AOC decided to put our links where our people are — when possible. That’s the democratic approach, and I apologize in advance to PC readers, who will have to search for the story to read the interview. ~ Anne
