Updated: AOC updates a CH Carolina Herrera handbags campaign that launched mid-summer focused on key bags from the Insignia collection with its special focus on the craftsmanship.
In these new images by campaign project photographer Brigitte Lacombe [IG], Christy Turlington continues her reign as a perfect ambassador for Carolina Herrera.
In fact, Christy’s daughter Grace Burns is also aligned with the luxury brand, and a new project that warrants a separate post.
We drop you into my earlier July 2023 commentary about how meaningless the word ‘supermodel’ has become, with everyone being called one.
Anne got very jazzed over a much better word for women like Christy Turlington. By definition is becomes a word for women over 30, because it implies longevity and accomplishment. Taylor Swift is age 33 and she definitely earns the title, too.

InStyle writes about Christy Turlington that there are models, and then there are ‘supermodels'. They are correct, of course, but the cavalier attitude towards crowning just about any model a “supermodel” is for real.
FGR used a term this morning that AOC can really go for — calling Christy Turlington a ‘titan’. That is REALLY GOOD!! We may not use the term in the same way — because AOC has always written about Christy’s ‘titanic’ work in the area of maternal health worldwide with her own foundation Every Mother Counts and her other humanitarian work with CARE.
Titans like Turlington and her protégé titan-in-the-making Karlie Kloss are devoted to progressive activism and using their influence and superstatus to touch the daily lives of real people outside of fashion, as well as inside.
Bottom line, I’m stealing the term ‘titan’ and telling everybody that I’m stealing it from FGR, while I come up with very specific criteria for who is a ‘titan’ on AOC.
Clearly, the folks at CH Carolina Herrera and especially Creative Director Wes Gordon understand my point.
Turlington’s good friend Karlie Kloss has long been involved with Carolina Herrera and when we last saw them connect in a Carolina Herrera Blush Fragrance campaign last spring, AOC shared that Carolina Herrera was an early supporter of Kode With Klossy.
The Insignia bags are great, but AOC will never lose our minds to products. We lose our minds to creative, beautiful-spirits, humanitarian people with style. And this fantabulous women helps define the term ‘titan’ on AOC.
