Mayowa Nicholas in 'Feel the Force' by Inez and Vinoodh for British Vogue July 2021

Nigerian beauty Mayowa Nicholas adds to a powerful, woman-centric July issue that is running laps around other Vogues. Malala Yousafzai, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook — Malala’s mentor and media partner, Edie Campbell and now this gorgeous fashion story with Mayowa Nicholas.

Unless you’re stuck in the broken-record accusation that Enninful is being PC putting Malala on the cover — and plenty of fashionistas are stuck in retrograde mode — you understand that the zeitgeist of our post George Floyd world demands Edward’s strategy.

Retrograde Fashionistas Need to Get Out of the Way

Just now I read that Surrey county in North Carolina has banned Coca Cola vending machines on county government property because Coca-Cola’s CEO called Georgia's new voting law "a step backwards" while expressing concerns it will make voting more difficult.

Add in the crisis of right-winger authoritarians dominating our lives, taking away our votes and implementing hateful, conservative-values anti-women, anti-LGBTQ, anti-science, anti-poc white nationalist legislation worldwide.

Remember that Anja Rubik took all her clothes off in the December 2020 issue of Vogue Poland, as the Polish government delivered crushing, white nationalist blows to human rights in her country. To their credit, Vogue Global published her letter in all the editions we examined including both British and American Vogues.

The Taliban is about to murder women and girls throughout Afghanistan, as the western forces pullsout of the corrupt-government country. It was the Taliban who originally put a bullet in Malala’s schoolgirl brain as she sat on her Swat Valley, Pakistan school bus.

AOC has been with Malala every step of the way from that dreadful moment to now, when Apple is her media partner, they are building girls education schools together all over the world via the Malala Fund, and the 23-year-old Nobel Laureate grad of Oxford is Tim Cook’s dinner partner at prestigious events for global activists.

The vast majority of people with active brains are delighted to see this gorgeous, relevant content mix in British Vogue. Have you read Sirin Kale’s interview with Malala: “I Know The Power A Young Girl Carries In Her Heart.”: The Extraordinary Life Of Malala?”
