Model Aleksandra Orbeck Nilssen has lived in Namibia since age 18, committed to working with wildlife. Photographer Asa Tallgaard joins Aleksandra, accompanied by stylist Petra Middlethon for the fashion shoot ‘Sauvage’ in ELLE Norway’s May 2020 GREEN issue. The cover was shot comes from the ELLE Norway Asa Tallgaard archives. Aleksandra is standing in front of a two-thousand-year-old Baobab Tree in Namibia. These extraordinary pillars of nature are under assault, with nine of 13 of Africa’s oldest baobab trees dying in the past decade. Researchers suspect that warming trees have either killed the trees directly or have weakened them to the ravages of drought, diseases, fire or wind.
