Maison Valentino Vintage Partners With 7 Global Vintage Stores in Exchange Voucher Program
/Valentino Vintage, an initiative by the luxury fashion house Valentino [IG], has expanded its presence by partnering with vintage stores in seven cities around the world, including London, Milan, Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, and New York. This innovative program allows customers to exchange their pre-loved Valentino garments for vouchers that can be used to purchase new items from the brand, extending the life cycle of luxury fashion.
Each participating vintage store was carefully selected based on its unique identity and cultural relevance within its respective city. For instance, London's Rellik, which opened in 1999, was chosen for its collection of vintage 1960s garments. The updated program now features a variety of Valentino's famous archival apparel in these partner stores.
The 2023 initiative builds upon the success of the 2021 Valentino Vintage program, which was spearheaded by CEO Jacopo Venturini and designer Pierpaolo Piccioli. As part of the expansion, Valentino has also collaborated with the London-based education and incubator, 1 Granary, to bring the swap-shop scheme to a wider audience.
Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli, BFC 2022 Designer of the Year
The goal of ‘democratizing fashion’ in the luxury market is sincere at Valentino from all we know. AOC focused on Valentino’s brand values and how they fit in with the HENRYS: [High-Earners-Not–Rich-Yet] in a recent April 2023 post.
Ironically, AOC opened that discussion on ‘HENRYS with Heart’ — Anne of Carversville’s core reader — celebrating Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli being named Designer of the Year at London’s Fashion Awards 2022, held at Royal Albert Hall by the British Fashion Council last December.
The BFC Foundation, nurtures design talent through all levels of their careers with money, mentoring and education, investing over $1 million in nurturing design talent last year.
With this week’s Valentino Vintage announcement, the luxury brand’s commitment to empowering young designers is a core part of the new Valentino Vintage project.

Introducing Valentino Vintage to Fashion Schools
Valentino's resale rollout is being implemented in phases, with the third phase involving the introduction of Valentino Vintage to fashion schools, where the brand believes "the newest and most original stories are born." This move reflects the growing trend among luxury brands to engage directly in resale as a means of recirculating old collections and attracting new customers.
As Valentino continues to expand its retail strategy under the leadership of Venturini, who joined the company in 2020, the Valentino Vintage initiative serves as a testament to the brand's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the luxury fashion industry.
