Cara Delevingne Uses Her Naked Body For Launch Of 'I'm Not A Trophy' Campaign

Super talent and model Cara Delevingne poses naked in a new animal rights campaign 'I'm Not a Trophy', dedicated to raising awareness that the Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the past 40 years. Founded by artist and photographer Arno Elias -- a talent who has had significant impact on my life, moods and creative personality through his Buddha Bar recordings -- 'I'm Not a Trophy is focused not only on species decline and poaching  but also on trophy hunting.

Delevingne is committed to saving all our endangered species, but lions are very close to Dara's heart. After Cecil the Lion was murdered last year by trophy hunger Walter Palmer, Cara auctioned off her watch to raise money for wildcru.org, Britain's Wildlife Conservation Research Unit.

Elora Hardy Joins Father John In Expanding Bamboo Design In Bali

In 2010 Elora Hardy left her career in Manhattan, working for five years creating fabric prints for Donna Karan, and returned to her childhood home of Bali. Elora Hardy is the daughter of jewelry designer John Hardy, who sold his business in 2008 and co-founded the Green School in Bali with his wife Cynthia. As its name suggests, open-air The Green School is based on sustainable principles and is spectacularly known for its bamboo construction.

Returning to Bali, Elora founded Ibukuself-described as a team of designers and builders who aspire to make the most of bamboo and local talented craftspeople and young minds. Ibuki develops a balance of ancient and new ideas in its commitment to building almost entirely handmade villas and bespoke furniture. A major project for Hardy is Green Village, a resort community along the Ayung River, 20 minutes from the Green School.

At a time when environmentally-conscious architecture is becoming more mainstream, Ibuku takes it to a new level. ‘Most green design now is part of a conventional paradigm that tries to be ‘less bad’, explains Elora. ‘If Leeds measured us, we would be off the charts.’

DNA Research Explains Giraffes' Long Necks As Global Population Plummets 40%

DNA Research Explains Giraffes' Long Necks As Global Population Plummets 40%

The research team in Tazania believes that the most important take-away from the four-year study is to highlight the critical importance of giraffe conservation. It's estimated that the global giraffe population has fallen 40 percent in just 15 years. Statistically giraffes are more endangered than elephants.

If elephants are threatened by an international demand for ivory, giraffes are threatened with extinction because of the local market for 'bush meat' and demand for skins in the luxury market. Not all species of giraffes are equally threatened.

A special surprise came with the announcement that Marilyn Minter had been working with Miley Cyrus and Marc Jacobs in an entirely new art project to benefit the organization Planned Parenthood of New York.

'Eclipsed' Tony-Nominated Danai Gurira Joins The Edit's The New Hollywood Lineup

'Eclipsed' Tony-Nominated Danai Gurira Joins The Edit's The New Hollywood Lineup

Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele joins stylist Tracy Taylor for The Edit's May 12 issue with its focus on 'The New Hollywood'. Photographer Bjorn Iooss flashes six creatives including Gillian Jacobs, Sonoya Mizuno, Elizabeth Debicki, Meera Menon, Ellie Bamber, and Danai Gurira in the all-Gucci feature.

Of special interest to AOC readers is Danai Gurira, a Zimbabwean actress and playright, who has mounted Broadway's first-ever all-female, women of color production called 'Eclipsed'. Our beloved muse Lupita Nyong'o is quoted by The Edit, describing Danai:

“In Eclipsed, Danai exposed the true pain of war. Performing it has been one of the most emotionally exhausting and rewarding experiences of my life. I thank the brilliant Danai for writing such an essential, powerful, funny and moving story, which forces me to dig down to my core every night.”

U2's Bono joined 'The Walking Dead' actor and 'Eclipsed' playwright, who also serves as an ambassador of the ONE Campaign, an organization he co-founded. The human rights activist was introduced by Lupita Nyong'o:

"We’ve asked (Bono) to join us today to launch our effort to bring direct attention to the challenges faced by millions of girls all over the world living under the tyranny of war, in poverty and being denied their human rights simply because they are female," Nyong'o told Saturday's audience. "From here on out, each performance will be dedicated to specific girls from around the world who have been kidnapped and are still missing."

Kenya Will Burn 105 Tons Of Elephant Ivory As African Nations, Activists & Philanthropists Converge In Kenya April 29-30

Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta will once again conduct a mass burning of ivory and rhino horn, setting fire to about 105 tons of ivory and 1.35 tons of rhino horn, representing about 4000 dead elephants. . The scale of the burning towers over Kenyatta's March 2015 fire of 15 tons of elephant ivory, called the largest ever burned in Africa,  a 10-foot tall pyre that smoldered for days until the ivory was reduced to ash.

Trump Assails Hillary, Saying Her Only Attribute Is Being A Woman

Trump Assails Hillary, Saying Her Only Attribute Is Being A Woman

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump both had big wins last night, with the presumptive Republican nominee Trump winning all five states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Clinton won four states -- with a net increase in pledged delegates of about 50 -- but lost Rhode Island to Bernie Sanders.

For his part, Bernie Sanders has pledged to only talk issues going forward, in an effort to influence the Democratic Party platform at the July convention in Philadelphia. He has informally conceded the Democratic nomination to Hillary. Trump unleashed last night a deeply personal campaign against Hillary Clinton, saying her only credentials are being a woman.

We will amp up our own commitment to telling Hillary's deeply personal story here on AOC and on HillaryWomen News Facebook
