Amandine Ohayon Becomes CEO of Givenchy | A New Power Couple Is Born

Fashion, beauty and bridal veteran Amandine Ohayon becomes CEO of Givenchy, effective Friday, January 9th, in a sequence of executive moves at LVMH. Ohayon succeeds Alessandro Valenti, who becomes deputy managing director in charge of commercial activities at Christian Dior Couture, effective Monday, the 11th.

The former CEO of Stella McCartney, before the designer separated her brand from LVMH, Ohayon reports to Pietro Beccari, who assumed the title of CEO of LVMH Fashion Group on January 1st. Beccari retains his title of chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. LVMH Fashion Group brands include Fendi, Celine, Loewe, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Pucci and Patou in addition to Givenchy.

“With her unique ability to collaborate with the most creative talents, coupled with her inclusive leadership and retail expertise, I am convinced Amandine will play a pivotal role in further accelerating the new growth chapter of Givenchy,” Beccari said in a statement released after the close of trading on the Paris Bourse.

Ohayon is a graduate of France’s ISSEC business school and has an MBA in luxury. She built beauty industry expertise as managing director of the L’Oréal Luxe division for the U.K. and Ireland.

In 2018, the new Givenchy executive joined Pronovias as CEO. While there, Ohayon worked on a 10-year license agreement with Vera Wang and — impressively to AOC — she managed the sale of Pronovias to Bain Capital. That’s quite a portfolio of achievement and highest level executive experience.

Ohayon and Burton: A Promising New Team

Amandine Ohayon becomes CEO of Givenchy with a strong breeze blowing in response to creative director Sarah Burton’s debut Fall/Winter 2025 collection and Spring/Summer 2026 as well. Ohayon’s arrival should be a shot in the arm for Givenchy’s creative director Sarah Burton, because this team must fire on all cylinders.

AOC is on the record writing that it’s vitally important for both Givenchy and Fendi to take aggressive steps to circle the wagons around treasured Dior clients not inspired by Jonathan Anderson’s new direction at Dior. Keeping them in the LVMH ‘family’ is a must-do.

With the lovefest around Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel gaining momentum — and Anne of Carversville is over the moon with Chanel for the first time ever — existing Dior clients have options.

Chanel Is Waiting In the Wings

To be clear regarding Chanel, it was only in late 2024 that I learned the intimate details of the love affair between Coco Chanel and Arthur ‘Boy’ Capel. Ironically, Matthieu Blazy also was very surprised but also smitten to learn about this incredible love story.

Blazy collaborated with Charvet, the storied Parisian shirtmaker, on boxy button-downs once her learned that Capel, an English sportsman, exclusively wore shirts from Charvet. With all the trauma going on in the world, the humanists could use a good love story. Chanel and Capel were a doozy. Blazy wasted no time tapping into a great love story; and he’s just getting started.
