Chioma Nnadi Wins Top Position Managing British Vogue's Editorial Content

British-born Chioma Nnadi will succeed Edward Enninful at British Vogue, operating under the title 'Head of Editorial Content'.

Vogue US editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is also Condé Nast global chief content officer and this change solidifies her control of Condé Nast global content worldwide.

In June 2019, Nnadi share the family photos above in a deeply personal story about the influence of her Nigerian father on her relationship with fashion and style.

He arrived in the U.K. from Nigeria in 1964 to study economics. Soon after, Nigeria was ravaged by a civil war that pitted the government against Biafra, the secessionist state where Nnadi’s father was born.

Her Swiss German mother was a nurse, raised in the Swiss countryside. In spite of her mini dresses, “sensible shoes were practically sewn into the soles of her feet”, wrote Nnadi.

"Chioma is beloved among her colleagues at Vogue, and is an editor and writer with an impeccable reputation -- both here and in the fashion industry at large. I'm so grateful to Edward Enninful for everything he's accomplished at British Vogue, and we're all looking forward to a productive and creative relationship with him in his new role," Wintour said in a statement.

Nnadi first joined the Vogue in 2010 as a writer and then fashio news director, based in New York. Most recently, Chioma Nnadi assumed the role of editor of Vogue.com, with the increasingly important role of directing digital content.

"I'm beyond excited and honored to have been appointed as British Vogue's head of editorial content. As someone who was born and raised in London, the energy of the city-its boundary-pushing style and creative scene-has shaped the way I look at the world," Nnadi said.

"Now, more than ever, it feels like a moment to look beyond borders while also celebrating the broad scope of what it means to be British. I'm looking forward to engaging a loyal and inspired digital community that is energized by our access, point of view, and storytelling," she added.

Michaela Coel Covers Vogue US November 2022, Lensed in Accra by Malick Bodian AOC Fashion

AOC’s immediate vision of Nnadi’s getting-the-story competency was one of the editor rollerblading with actor Michaela Coel in Ghana for the November 2022 issue of Vogue US. [Presumably, the article appeared in other global Vogues.] The cover story was important beyond Coel, bringing together IB Kamara as stylist and Malick Bodian as the photographer.
