Apparel brand SKIMS has popped into London, installed at Selfridges until July 8, 2023. Selfridges will open a redesigned and expanded permanent SKIMS shop-in-shop this summer.

“I’m thrilled to open our first international pop-up experience at the iconic Selfridges Corner Shop. We expect demand and buzz to be high as this is the first time SKIMS Swim will be available in retail outside of the U.S,” Jens Grede, Skims co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “The pop-up experience will set the tone for the future of SKIMS in London, as the cultural and fashion destination is a key market for our global expansion.”

The pop-up space is a collaboration with French-Canadian creative director and designer Willo Perron of Perron-Roettinger, featuring diving boards and palm tree structures. This unique twist on a collaboration partner suits Skims very well.

Chin Chin Labs will provide ice cream for shoppers at the Corner Shop.

Skims first launched Skims at Selfridges in London in October, 2020. In 2023, Skims is such a hot brand in vestment opportunity that TIME put Kim Kardashian on the cover of its TIME 100 Most Influential Companies of 2023. TIMES writes:

Founded in late 2019, Skims says it made $500 million last year, 25% more than projected and 80% more than it made in 2021, which was up 90% from the year before. So far, 2023 has been a down year for underwear sales, but buoyant for Skims; CEO Jens Grede, who co-founded the company with his wife Emma and Kardashian, says that sales of its intimates increased 86% year over year in April.

In London, SKIMS is also available at Harrods and Net-a-Porter and will open its own freestanding shop in London in the next 18 months. The shop will be in an area with “high traffic”, such as Bond Street or Regent Street Grede told The Sunday Times UK.

“We’re really looking for exceptional locations,” he said. “We’re pursuing a Nike strategy of having important stores in important cities and you can’t do too many too fast.”

SKIMS also plans to open 35 “shops-in-shops” with wholesale partners in America and internationally this year. Simply stated, SKIMS is on a big roll and Kim Kardashian is the hardest-working woman on our radar.

May 2023 SKIMS Pop-Up in New York City

In May 2023, SKIMS popped in and out of New York City’s Rockefeller Center.

Only Kim Kardashian would think of having the Radio City Rockettes doing their world-famous leggy dance routine in SKIMS best-selling Seamless Sculpt Collection.

AOC was asleep at the switch on this event, which closed May 28, 2023. Additionally, Skims launched a dedicated, specially-designed fifth-floor space at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship across the street. Skims will open at Saks in Houston and Boston shortly.
