Celebrity Stylist Christine Centenera Is Now Vogue Australia Editor-in-Chief
/Lost in some of the late December 2022 holiday news was the appointment of current fashion director Christine Centenera as editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia, replacing Edwina McCann.
Centenera will report to McCann, who will take the role of the magazine’s editorial director and publisher at News Corp Australia.
“We have worked together for more than 13 years and Christine is my natural choice to succeed me in this role,” McCann said in a statement released to the press.
“While I will continue as the magazine’s editorial director and publisher, this change will allow me to focus on our expanding and successful Prestige publishing business at News Corp Australia, which also includes Conde Nast titles GQ Australia and Vogue Living.”
Centenera’s most recent role in the limelight was styling Kanye West's controversial 'White Lives Matter' show in Paris, on October 3.
The well-regarded fashion industry professional has styled prominent women Cate Blanchett, Gisele Bundchen, Kim Kardashian, and Naomi Campbell. She also worked closely with Virgil Abloh, styling Louis Vuitton Mens until Abloh’s passing.
Centenera runs her own label Wardrobe.NYC. In May 2021 she gave birth to twins, becoming parents with her long-time friend and partner since 2018, actor Joel Edgerton.
