In Alaïa creative director Pieter Mulier’s recent interview with W Magazine, AOC learned that the term ‘glamazon’ is now defunct, as it is deemed to be oppressive against women.

The glamazon message, according to Mulier, says that women must be perfect and, therefore, the word denigrates women and makes them feel fashion-world and also body-insecure.

Not in this ardent feminist’s playbook.

In AOC’s opinion Precious Lee is every inch a glamazon of epic magnitude. I’ll have to ask her if she finds the word ‘glamazon’ to be disabling. Glamazon is about power, not perfection, although with some women weeping over the popularity of the world-acclaimed Miu Miu short skirt, I can imagine that they find ‘glamazon’ to be equally oppressive.

AOC gives the last word to Precious Lee — and goddess-forbid we should just be equal individuals from glamazons to hermits, free to express ourselves as we choose.
