We dig deeply into psyches here at Anne of Carversville. More than one reader — and even more importantly — more than one photographer has expressed a love of our website because I try to connect the dots between female sexuality, society, religion and self-image.

When I opened these new images from Remi Rebillard, my response was visceral and a resounding yes! The mood and styling of the set by Don West capture perfectly the tension of female sensuality and beauty, but also the imprisonment and guilt that women live with.

The beauty and erotic female tension of models Hanna Saul, Alexandra Yanina and Dominique Clerc, styled perfectly in classic ivory fluidity, speaks volumes to me. They so capture what I am trying to say, that I’m working with Remi to use them not only as an AOC logo, but on my personal bio page in the upcoming Erotic Signature book #4.

I was a judge for that contest and have written the juror’s essay, touching on my own evolution from Fashion Director of Victoria’s Secret to being willing to lend my name to an erotic art project.

Remi Reillard’s simple images of Hanna, Alexandra and Dominique capture everything that I am about as a writer on female sexuality and culture.

More than one woman has told me that my curated images have influenced positively how they see themselves. Many say they have never seen sensual women portrayed so beautifully as they are at Anne of Carversville.

In a world where major forces are trying to reclaim control of women’s bodies because we are enjoying a moment of sexual emancipation, it is the artists and models who are willing to creates images like these that help us fight back within our own selves and self images.

In photographing the sensual complexity of our lives, they help us fight new laws governing our bodies. Other countries must take the lead here, because the biggest forces determined to pass new legislation against women are here in America.
