Kate Scott & Kirsty Mitchell in Corso Como PhotoVogue Exhibit July 19-Aug 10
/I’m just thrilled to share news that my dear friend photographer Kate Scott’s image ‘Opus’ has been selected as one of 101 images of the more than 57,000 submitted to Vogue Italia on their PhotoVogue website. The minute I saw Kate’s flower images on photovogue, I became an ardent lover of her work and her wit. We are soul sisters in the best meaning of the word.
Kate introduced me to Kirsty Mitchell, an equally awesome young photographer who is making a big name for herself. Kirsty’s photograph ‘The Storyteller’ was my Facebook banner until recently, when I replaced it with vagina cupcakes (actually labia but the Republicans haven’t banned the word ‘labia’ yet) as a form of political protest against America’s worsening situation for women’s rights.
Kate and Kirsty’s images will be on exhibit at Milan’s Corso Como from July 19th to August 10th.
An institution for Smart Sensuality women, Corso Como was founded in 1990 by Carla Sozzani — sister of Vogue Italia editor in chief France Sozzani. Comprised of a high-end fashion boutique with intellectual resources like books and art, a cafe and small hotel, Corso Como has always promoted a “slow shopping” attitude, positioning fashion at the intersection of commerce and culture.
Well done, Kate and Kirsty!!! We’ll be following the exhibit to promote the other 99 images selected for the Corso Como PhotoVogue exhibit. Now if only I can convince Kate Scott to start photographing vagina cupcakes, we will make a fortune together. Kisses all around. I know these two women are so excited over this honor from Vogue Italia. ~ Anne
