Natasha Poly | Mario Sorrenti | V Mag 67 | City of God

Updated Oct. 15, 2010| Holy mother of God. We’re tracking the evolution of woman as goddess, a growing Mary Magdalene movement, and female-centric spirituality on many fronts.

Mario Sorrenti’s new editorial for V Magazine 67, sharring Natasha Poly and channelling Alejandro Jodorowsky’s cult classic “The Holy Mountain” just launched a fashion rocket ship into this religious, cultural mine field.

The new City of God video makes it clear that we’re traveling back to the land of the Pharaohs. One can argue that the editorial shoot is against Islam, but I don’t believe so. Rather, I see the photoshoot as reflecting the growing, global understanding that all roads lead to the Holy Land and its accompanying suppression of women.

The theme here is the patriarchy killing female-centric values worldwide and that includes red-white and blue patriarchal, Conservative, fundamentalist values at work in the world. via Noir Facade
