X-posted in SN Angels | No Wings A gloriously gorgeous set of Victoria’s Secret backstage photos are traveling the Internet today.

Now this is my Victoria’s Secret woman, not the gaggle of giggling girls jumping up in the air with 6’ wings. These Victoria’s Secret images evoke true sensuality — strong but alluring. Seduction, rather than women about to blow your brains out, jumping out of Michael Bay’s helicopters.

For 10 years of my life, I worked to support this image of female sensuality, building the Victoria’s Secret brand. Working as a consultant to Fortune 100 companies after leaving VS, I believe these images are from 2004 or close. I used them in several presentations, heaping praise on VS for this product design.

I own much of the lingerie from this collection and prayed at the time, that this VS woman was returning from her much tackier sister.

Alas, Michael Bay says she is too soft. Today’s sexy woman needs machine guns — or at least the inference that she can handle one like a pro.

We will revisist these women tomorrow in my Sensually Yours column. I agree that this version of Victoria’s Secret lingerie — not commenting on Pink and not the beauty business — is her best self, and the numbers support my argument.

I don’t know who put these images in circulation — perhaps VS. I’m not sure they’re Russell James images, although they have his touch and atmosphere.

We will try to track down the story behind these ‘art photos’ of the Victoria’s Secret women. Adriana Lima, Ana Beatriz Barros, Gisele and many more. The women are gorgeous, and so is the sensual attitude of the lingerie. Anne
