Gisele Bündchen & Friends Cozy Up With Fake Fur By Inez & Vinoodh For Vogue Paris August 2017
/My first thought was that the August 2017 issue of Vogue Paris is devoted to women and their pets. Apparently the issue tries to reach a higher bar, promoting cover star Gisele Bündchen in 'Chic animals and faux fur'. This editorial tag line is focused on the fashion connection, imo. Gisele is an ardent environmentalist, but other models like Doutzen Kroes are far better known as spokespeople for wildlife conservation.
Inez & Vinoodh capture Gisele and friends in a series of truly uninspiring images in which animals are blurry extensions of the fake-fur laden women who own them. What might be a fine idea in terms of intention probably falls flat in execution, confined by the clearly-defined limits of Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt's own imagination.
