As an ethical matter, I must advise young women to remember that fashion is a fantasy and models’ images are also manipulated with photoshop and frequently don’t represent reality. Having just written about Michael Kors and his support of the UN World Food Programme for starving people worldwide, I must say that one of these images truly disturbs me, and I would not have published it. I rarely comment on this topic of the fashion industry’s love of increasingly thin models and its potential impact on young women, and I do not expect to be criticized for it.
