“Maybe some women aren’t mean(t) to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with them.”

Vogue writer Rob Haskell turned sex therapist in his July cover story interview with Cara Delevingne. Haskell delved into the artist’s romantic relationships with both men and women, zeroing in on her current relationship with singer Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent. Delevingne responded: “I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I’m feeling so happy with who I am these days” before adding “And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle.”

Nice, right? Cara continued, saying that while “women are what completely inspire” her, it’s men who prompt her sexy dreams. Like many creative women before her, Delevingne painted an honest portrait of her current sexual identity.

Haskell, who presumably has no training in sexual identity pounced, sharing that, “Her parents seem to think girls are just a phase for Cara, and they may be correct.”

Mind you that Cara asked not one iota of advice from Haskell, who couldn’t resist offering her unsolicited and frankly condescending advice. How very male of him!!! “When I suggest to Cara that to trust a man, she might have to revise an old and stubborn idea of hers — that women are perenially troubled and therefore only women will accept her — her smile says she concedes the point.” Apparently, it doesn’t occur to Haskell that the notoriously spontaneous, authentic Delevingne may find him to be a total ass.

Activists are calling out Haskell’s words in an online petition to Anna Wintour at Vogue that already has about 17,000 signatures.
