Lupita Nyong'o Is A 'Lady in Red' By Mikael Jansson For Vogue July 2014
/Academy Award actor for her role as the slave girl Patsey in ‘12 Years A Slave’, a most-sincere beauty role model for young women of color, and fashionista media darling Lupita Nyong’o is the ‘Lady in Red’ and Vogue Magazine cover girl, lensed by Mikael Jansson for the July issue. Lupita is interviewed by Hamish Bowles in Marrakech, with styling by Phyllis Posnick./ Makeup by Mark Carrasquillo; hair by Bok-Hee
We find Lupita at the oasis sanctuary Ksar Char-Bagh, a “castle-like fort in the middle of the Palmeraie” with views of the Atlas Mountains in the distance. Commenting on her role as Lancôme’s newest brand ambassadors, who currently include Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, and Penélope Cruz, Lupita thrills to the concept that her sisters “are very different, unique women—it’s not about conforming to an already established idea of what is beautiful, and I like that.”
