Marlijn Hosk Plays Nursemaid in Carmen Kemmink's 'Wit in 't wild' for Marie Claire Netherlands May 2013

Marlijn Hosk amplifies this week’s ‘Out of Africa’ theme, playing nursemaid to an adorable tiger cub in Carmen Kemmink’s editorial for Marie Claire Netherlands May issue. Marjolein Mos styles Marlijn in new century white embroideries, but the connection to the preciousness of nature is the same for ‘wit in ‘t wild’. /Hair and makeup by Anita Jolles
Note: Anne here. I haven’t verified the source of these animals, but those used by Carine Roitfeld in Kate Upton’s Harper’s Bazaar Australia and also Harper’s UK editorials earlier this week came from the Miami-based Zoological Wildlife Foundation. The group is furious that PETA has gone after them for allowing the babies to be photographed. ZWF Vice President Maria Tabraue told the Daily Mail UK that its animals are captive-born for at least five generations.
“These (animals) are hand-raised by humans because the mother has rejected them,” she explained. Without the organizations help, they would not have survived asserts Tabraue.
We will pursue the question, because AOC readers are concerned about using wild animals as fashion pets.
