Model Valery Kuklishyna is lensed by photographer Olivia Hunter in one of my favorite themes: the rise of the phoenix. I’ve used the term ‘Phoenix Rising’ for several years and Kanye West used the phoenix in his excellent, inspiring ‘Runaway’ video about the rise of female-centric, humanistic values. Social conservatives hate the phoenix as some kind of Egyptian anti-Christ, so of course I adopt the term whenever possible.
